| Westfield Primary School Housepoint Information | ||||
Since 1980 all Westfield pupils have been assigned to one of four Houses/Teams: LINCOLN WINGFIELD TATTERSHALL FARRINGFORD The names were chosen by Mr Cox, who was the Headteacher from 1980-1997 and they are the names of the four ferries which serviced the Humber crossings between Hull and Barton until the Humber Bridge opened. The House system was revamped in 2007 and each House now has a logo in its own colour, designed by one of our pupils in Year 5. In addition, only those pupils in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) are placed in a House as the system is not used in Key Stage 1. Housepoints are awarded by school staff to reward good work, good behaviour or making significant contributions to school life e.g. helping organise or participating in major school events. The Year 6 House Captains collect housepoint totals each week and at the end of each half term the team with the most points is given additional breaktime on the final day. Teachers are also assigned to each House and they assist the children and encourage team performance.
